Minutes Board Meeting

1. Welcome and Introductions-
Pat Shaw new Superintendent for the Santee School District.


2. Meeting was called to order by  President- Rachael Folsom, at 6:05PM

3. In attendance:  
  • Jim Panknin

  • Emily Andrade
  • Pat Shaw
  • Betty Vega
4. Jim moved to approve the minutes from June 29, 2009
Terry seconded the motion and minutes were approved and filed.


5. The Treasurer’s Report was read distributed, discussed and filed.
  • Foundation amount raised from Golf Tournament: $24,799.00
  • We received $10,000 grant from American College of Chest Physicians Industry Council.
  • Pat Shaw reviewed Technology plans for the school district and requested $20,000 from the Foundation for this year to assist the district in providing laptop computers for classrooms and to help implement wireless capability for the district schools. General consensus for supporting this project was yes. We will have official vote at Sept. meeting.

6. Art Show
  • We discussed and planned an Art Show to be held in February or March to promote and highlight efforts of the Arts Attack program.
7. Golf Tournament
  • We discussed and reviewed report from the Golf Tournament Committee.
8. Membership Drive and Membership List
  • Betty will develop a new contact list and divide it into Board Members, Officers and members at large.
9. Phone Book Art Request
  • Rachael will contact Ted Hooks about possible art pictures to support this project.
10. Foundation Brochure
  • Ellen and Betty shared draft of Foundation Brochure. Revisions, suggestions were given and the final draft will be brought to the next meeting for final approval before Arli develops the final product for printing. These will be distributed at the schools and local businesses.
11. Round Table Discussion:
  • Ideas were discussed for fund raising.
