1. Present: Linda Vail, Joanne Denniston, Rachael Folsom, Terry Johnson,         Barbara Ryan, Jim Panknin, Ellen Duty, Suzette Nacavili and Betty Vega

2. Approval of April 27, 2009 minutes
  • Jim moved to approve April 27, 2009 minutes and Ellen seconded the motion. The motion was approved.
3. Treasurer’s Report (reviewed and copy filed)

4. Golf Tournament June 24, 2009
  • We still need golfers and need to continue with our calls for donations and sponsors, need to continue selling opportunity tickets.
  • Volunteers need to arrive at 9:00 and check in with Ted.
5. Budget for next year.
  • Jim reviewed areas of the budget and we discussed options. We will do an overview of the budget for next year at the June meeting.
6. Bylaw Discussion
  • Bylaw discussion on difference between an officer and a board member and number for a quorum.
  • Discussed need to elect someone to complete Maria’s term of office for the position of Vice President.
7. Nominations for Board of Directors for next year.

9. Round Table.
  • Suggested that we include a combination Foundation membership application and explanation brochure in the student go home packets in Sept.
  • Need for committees for the fall, (art contest, fundraising, hospitality, membership)
  • Assignments for covering Santee Street Faire Booth on May 30. We will give out chip clips, have available: paver applications, membership applications, opportunity tickets, golf tournament applications and pictures of our activities for the year. Booth will be next to Tutoring Club Booth in the Hartford Ins. area.
  • Cling on Foundation advertisements for each business
10. Adjournment at 7:30. Next meeting is June 29, 2009. We will review budget, officers, board of directors, committees, Membership application letter to be included in student go home packet in Sept., and Golf Tournament.
