Minutes Board Meeting

1. Welcome and Introductions-
  • Guest: Jennifer Humora from Mom’ Guides
2. Meeting was called to order by President- Rachael Folsom, at 6:00PM

4. Terry moved to approve the minutes from February, 2010.
  • Terry seconded the motion and minutes were approved and filed
5. The Treasurer’s Report was read distributed, discussed and filed.
6. Art Show Review: Ted Hooks
  • Raised $2000.00
  • Pleased with turnout and organization of first year event
  • Next year suggestions: more student work, bring in band or choral group, continue to foster relationship with Boys and Girls Club, include donated art from them, charge for vendor tables and gear vendors to relate to art venue, include increments in bidding, continue to use Boys and Girls club for Art Show unless we increase numbers beyond that facility, assign someone to each area in the room to facilitate.
  • Thank you notes will be sent to vendors. Ellen, Jerelyn and Ted will do follow through on this area.
  • We have 20 frames left. Size 11X13 matted for work that is 8X10
  • Everyone expressed gratitude to Ted for his excellent organization of this activity and the outstanding district support.

7. Website:

  • Jim will look into the capability of PayPal and credit card on the website and will discuss this at the May meeting.
8. Mom's Fundraiser:
  • Jennifer Humora explained her Mom’s guides and showed us samples from other communities. If we do this fundraiser it would be a booklet filled with ideas and community activities in Santee.
  • Jennifer’s company would do all the work of soliciting ads and producing the booklet.
  • We could sign up for a guaranteed profit of $2500.00 or we could go in as a partner and split the profit.
9. Golf Tournament:
  • We need golfers and sponsors. Lists to call were distributed.
10. Foundation Brochures:
  • Cost will be $485.00 and will be printed before next meeting.
11. Del Mar Fair Table:
  • It was decided not to participate in this activity this year.
12. Street Fair Santee:
  • We will have a table at the Fair. We will organize this event at the next meeting.
  • We discussed getting a banner not to exceed $125.00. Jim made the motion and Barbara seconded it and it was passed.
13. Paver Flyers:
  • Flyers will be sent home and deadline is June 1, for orders.
14. Round Table Discussion:
  • We discussed what we would need for Street Fair.
