Minutes Board Meeting

1. Welcome and Introductions-
Ted Hooks, Coordinator of Art Show and Minnie Malin, Coordinator of Golf Tournament.


2. Meeting was called to order by  President- Rachael Folsom, at 6:00PM

4. Jim moved to approve the minutes from October 26, 2009
Ellen seconded the motion and minutes were approved and filed.


5. The Treasurer’s Report was read distributed, discussed and filed.
  • Additional donations have been received for the Barbara Ramsey Scholarship Fund. Betty will send thank you notes. Jim will give her the addresses.
  • Tax statements will go to Auditor and will be on Foundation web site.
  • A phone vote was taken to approve the purchase of 150 frames for $612.00 to frame student work for the Art Show and Auction.
6. Art Show Ted Hooks is the coordinator of the Art Show and Auction. Tentative date will be February 25. and tentative location is the Boys and Girls Club in Santee.
  • Framed original student art will be on sale. Parents can arrange to purchase or the art will be available to the community to purchase. A procedure sheet will be developed by the Art Show Committee and sent home to interested students. We hope to have at least 150 on display.
  • Each school will have a table to display sample art projects featuring Arts Attacks projects.
  • Each school will have the opportunity to submit 3 pieces of art (primary, intermediate, Jr. High) to be used in a silent or live auction.
  • There will be displays by local artists, and vendors.
  • A Art Flea Market with gently used art will be available to bid on. Donations of these items can be dropped off at the Cajon Park Annex. John Tofflemire reported that Jere Ancell has offered to donate one of his original paintings for auction.
  • All proceeds will go to the Foundation to support art instruction for all Santee students. Admission to the Art Show will be free and all donations of gently used Art will be Tax Deductible.
  • Art Committee meetings will be held, Dec. 15 at 3:30 in the District Library, Jan. 12 in the District Library at 3:15 and on Jan. 19 at 3:15 in the Rio Seco Multi Purpose Room
  • Betty will bring minutes from Art Show meetings to the January Foundation Meeting.
7. Golf Tournament: Minnie Malin is the coordinator for the Golf Tournament. The Tournament will be June 29, 2010.She will have an organization and planning meeting Jan.14, 2010 at 9:00 in the District Library. Betty will bring copies of minutes to the Jan. Meeting. It was suggested that all vendors who do business with the school district be contacted for donations or sponsorships.
8. Foundation Brochure: The final draft was discussed and suggestions were made. Betty will give these suggestions to Arli to further revise the brochure. We will be gathering prices for printing. If anyone knows a reasonable printer contact Betty. These will be distributed at the schools and local businesses and activities of the Foundation. Betty will email the final product when she gets it back from Arli before we have it printed.
10. Round Table Discussion:
  • Pavers can be purchase off the website now.
  • Rachael asked everyone to read the articles on the website and help update them for the new year.
  • Rachael will bring a spreadsheet of the mini grants to the Jan. Foundation meeting.
Adjournment 8:00 p.m. Next meeting will be January 25, 2010 6:00 p.m District Library. There will not be a meeting in December
