Minutes Board Meeting
6:00 pm Monday, January 25,2010

1. Welcome and Introductions-
2. Meeting was called to order by President- Rachael Folsom, at 6:00PM
3. In attendance:

4. Betty moved to approve the minutes from November 30, 2009
Terry seconded the motion and minutes were approved and filed.
5. The Treasurer’s Report was read distributed, discussed and filed.
- Rachael moved to order nametags to be used by the Foundation Members at Events, not to go over an expense of $500.00. Jim seconded the motion and it was approved.
- Rachael moved to reimburse the cost of an item that was broken when the American College of Chest Physicians visited Sycamore Canyon School to present a free program. Jim seconded the motion and it was approved.
- A phone vote was taken to approve the purchase of 150 frames for $612.00 to frame student work for the Art Show and Auction. This motion was officially approved. Betty moved that we approve the purchase of additional frames if we receive more than 150 items that need to be framed. Joanne seconded the motion and it was approved.
6. Art Show Ted Hooks is the coordinator of the Art Show and Auction. The official date will be February 23. and it will be held at the Boys and Girls Club Gym in Santee from 6:00-8:30 pm.
- Framed original student art will be on sale. Parents can arrange to purchase or the art will be available to the community to purchase. A procedure sheet will be developed by the Art Show Committee and sent home to interested students. We hope to have at least 150 on display.
- Each school will have a table to display sample art projects featuring Arts Attacks projects.
- Each school will have the opportunity to submit 3 pieces of art (primary, intermediate, Jr. High) to be used in a silent or live auction.
- There will be displays by local artists, and vendors.
- An Art Flea Market with gently used art will be available to bid on. Donations of these items can be dropped off at the Cajon Park Annex. John Tofflemire reported that Jere Ancell has offered to donate one of his original paintings for auction.
- All proceeds will go to the Foundation to support art instruction for all Santee students. Admission to the Art Show will be free and all donations of gently used Art will be Tax Deductible.
- Betty will bring minutes from Art Show meetings to the February Foundation Meeting. Meeting Minutes from January Art meetings were distributed.
7. Art Show Discussion
- Son Rise Church does not charge to use their facility. There is plenty of
room to display student artwork, have vendors and adequate space for parking.
We will review the district calendar and the community calendar including sports events to determine a night in March to hold the Art Show.
We need a committee and it was suggested to ask Ted Hooks to be the chairperson.
8. Golf Tournament: Minnie Malin is the coordinator for the Golf Tournament. The Tournament will be June 29, 2010. at the Carlton Oaks Country Club. It will start at 11:00. Minutes from the Jan 14th planning meeting were distributed.
9. Foundation Brochure: Arli is working on the final draft of the Brochure. These will be distributed at the schools and local businesses and activities of the Foundation. Betty will email the final product when she gets it back from Arli before we have it printed.
10. Round Table Discussion:
- Dr.Pat Shaw reported that the wireless capability would be completed for the district by March for 4th-7th grade. He thanked the Foundation for supporting this effort.
- Rachael will email a spreadsheet of the mini grants to Foundation members.
